Started with a laptop camera and iMovie at eleven — making short films with my brother. It was never about the equipment. It was about telling a story, and watching people react to something I created.
A $4,000 commercial changed everything. My first major project showed me there was a real business behind the craft. I took on almost every production I could, spent time in the Los Angeles production industry, and found my way into short-form content for e-commerce, outdoor and music brands.
But something kept bothering me. I could hand a client a high-end video that looked great — and if it created little measurable value for their business, what had I really accomplished? Beautiful wasn’t enough anymore.
That question is why Welborn Media Group exists: a Dayton, Ohio creative performance agency that combines high-end production with the strategy, testing and data needed to help brands actually grow, through GEO optimization, Meta advertising and organic social media.

Bennett Welborn, a filmmaker who has been making short films since he was a kid. He spent time in the Los Angeles production industry, worked on sets in Los Angeles, Chicago and Nashville, and produced short-form content for e-commerce, outdoor and music brands before founding Welborn Media Group in Dayton, Ohio.
